Experience the captivating landscapes of Kenya in 4 days: begin at Ziwani Tent Camp, a riverside haven offering guided walks and night game drives amidst the serene wilderness; continue to the iconic Amboseli National Park, where large elephant herds roam against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro; journey to Taita Hills Saltlick, a unique lodge where wildlife gathers around waterholes, providing breathtaking elevated views; and conclude at Tsavo East National Park, known for its vast open plains, red-soil landscapes, and diverse wildlife.
Day 1: Mombasa to Ziwani
Pick up from your Mombasa hotel and set off along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway. The journey covers 285 km and takes about 5 hours and 45 minutes, with refreshment stops along the way. Arrive at the scenic Ziwani Park, where you’ll have lunch and unwind at Ziwani Tented Camp.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk with a resident naturalist, exploring the local flora and fauna. After some refreshments, embark on an exciting night game drive, spotting nocturnal animals rarely seen during daylight hours. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Ziwani Tented Camp.
Day 2: Voyager Ziwani to Amboseli National Park
Wake up before sunrise for an early morning game drive, capturing the breathtaking beauty of an African dawn as it lights up the savanna. Traverse the Amboseli landscape, spotting early risers among the grazers and hunters. A relaxed mid-morning game drive follows, offering more chances to admire the scenery and wildlife.
Continue on to Amboseli, famous for its stunning views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive with a game drive en route to Oltukai Lodge, where you’ll check in, enjoy lunch, and take a short rest. In the afternoon, embark on another game drive before settling in for the evening.
Day 3: Amboseli to Saltlick Lodge (The Stilts)
Start the day with an early morning game drive, taking advantage of the prime wildlife viewing time before breakfast. Return to the camp for breakfast, then check out and drive to Taita Hills Sanctuary. Enjoy a brief game drive upon arrival, spotting various wildlife before heading to the Stilts Lodge for lunch.
After a relaxing break, set out at 3:30 PM for an afternoon game drive, with a good chance of seeing large herds of elephants and other wildlife. Conclude the day with dinner, followed by a night game drive that reveals the sanctuary’s nocturnal creatures. Return to Saltlick Lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Saltlick to Mombasa
Begin with an early morning game drive, capturing the final sights of wildlife as the sun rises over the sanctuary. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, check out and bid farewell to the park. Embark on a scenic drive to Diani Beach, taking approximately four hours to reach Mombasa.
Enjoy the changing landscapes, from the savanna to the coastal region, and feel the anticipation of the ocean breeze. Arrive around lunchtime and head to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon by the beach, where you can unwind or explore the local shops
