Overview

Experience the wonders of Uganda in 5 days: start in Kampala, the vibrant capital, before journeying to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the iconic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park for thrilling game drives, where you’ll encounter diverse wildlife amidst stunning savannah landscapes. Visit the famous Kazinga Channel for a boat safari that offers breathtaking views of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you’ll be greeted by our driver guide, who will brief you on your 5-day Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari. The journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park begins, taking you through the scenic route via Mubende and Fort Portal, with an en-route lunch stop in Fort Portal.

The drive will take about 6 to 7 hours, offering glimpses of Uganda’s beautiful countryside. Upon reaching the park, enjoy an optional evening game drive, where you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks.

Day 2: Game Drive/Lion Tracking & Afternoon Boat Cruise

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out with your driver guide for a morning game drive or lion tracking in Kasenyi Plains. Expect to see a variety of wildlife including elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, warthogs, and possibly predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas.

In the afternoon, embark on a 2-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. Enjoy sightings of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes along the banks, as well as numerous bird species like pelicans, African skimmers, and fish eagles.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, check out and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy a game drive in Ishasha, known for its tree-climbing lions resting in acacia and fig trees.

After the game drive, have lunch before continuing to Bwindi. Upon arrival, check into Buhoma Haven Lodge (Midrange) or Buhoma Community Rest Camp (Budget) for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, take a packed lunch and head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and guidelines. You’ll be grouped into eight and assigned a gorilla family to trek based on age, fitness, and preferences. A park guide will lead you through the jungle, with the trek lasting from 30 minutes to 7 hours.

Along the way, look out for other wildlife like L’hoest monkeys, baboons, and various bird species. Once you find the mountain gorillas, you’ll have one hour to observe and photograph them.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala

On the final day, enjoy breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Your driver guide will take you back to Kampala, passing through Kabale, Ntungamo, and Mbarara towns with a stop for lunch in Mbarara. Continue the journey with a break at the equator in Kayabwe for photos and souvenir shopping.

From the equator, proceed to Kampala, where you’ll be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport or a convenient location. End of the 5-day Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari.
