10 Days Kenya to Tanzania Migration Safari
Your safari will start early in the morning with a pick-up by Jemmy Safaris guide; from a pre-determined spot in Nairobi. Then, you will embark on a 3-hour drive and arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park. On arrival, you will check-in at a luxurious; lodge and have lunch.
After this, a park ranger will pick you up and take you on an afternoon game drive into the park. You will see endangered African rhinos, abundant birdlife surrounding the lake, including flamingoes and baboons.
On day 2, you will wake up early to catch the wildlife in the park as they move to watering holes. Expect to see magnificent giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, and leopards. After this, you will check out of your accommodations and head to Masai Mara National Reserve.
You will arrive for lunch after you check in to the scenic accommodations. The evening game drive will start at 4 pm, and you will get an excellent introduction to the animals and bird species that live here.
Early in the morning, you will go on a game drive to catch the animals at their most active. Expect to see all of the big five, plus hyenas, giraffes, hippos, gazelles, antelopes, and crocodiles mingling naturally.
You will then have a full breakfast and leave with packed lunch for the mid-morning and afternoon game drive. You will also go on a guided nature walk to closely view and interact with non-predatory species. Then it back to your accommodations for dinner and rest.
This day is a chance to explore the Mara from new perspectives. So after early morning coffee, you will drive to various sites including the balloon safari spot. This safari (optional, at an extra cost) sees you soaring in the air on a hot air balloon. It is a magical once-in-a-lifetime experience. You can catch the African sunrise from a magnificent spot and see herds of animals beneath.
After landing, you will have a full breakfast before the driver picks you up for more game viewing on a vehicle. You have the chance to see over 300 species of birds in just 24 hours. Additionally, you will see predators hunting, then feasting.
On this day, you will go on a morning game drive before checking out and leaving for Serengeti National Park, finally crossing the border into Tanzania. The Mara and Serengeti merge at the edge, so you may get to see the Great Migration if you travel between June and October.
You will leave with packed lunch arriving at Serengeti, in the evening. This scenic park is home to multiple species of animals. Expect to see a magnificent starry sky before tuckering in for the night.
On the next day, you get to explore the park in the various sections starting with the southern part characterized by savanna grasslands with diverse wildlife. You will then have a full breakfast before leaving for more game viewing.
You will see the western corridor, which has many more forests, more bird and primate species. Expect to see Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, and Olive baboons. Lastly, you will go to the north Lobo area, a scenic place for relaxation and inspiration.
The following day you will travel from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a protected area home to many stunning attractions. After checking in, you will have an early lunch then go on a game drive.
Expect to see all of the bug five plus massive herds of zebra and wildebeests. Don’t be surprised if you meet some livestock, too, as the Masai tribes graze their animals along the protected area. Afterward, you will go back to your accommodations for dinner and rest.
From Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will travel to Lake Manyara. This is after a morning game drive and full breakfast at your accommodations. The scenic drive is filled with animals and birds in their natural habitats.
Upon arrival, you will check in and go on a game drive. The park is known for tree-climbing lions and large herds of elephants. Expect to see all this plus giraffes, gazelles, and hippos. Then you can tuck in for the evening after watching n the lovely sunset.
From Lake Manyara, you will go to Tarangire National Park. Again you will depart for a morning game drive then move along to Tarangire. Upon arrival, you will check-in, enjoy a meal then head for a game drive.
Expect to see a large population of various birds plus animals such as zebras and elephants. You will also enjoy the spectacular views on the evening walking safari.
Finally, your last day sees you traveling back to Nairobi but not before an early morning game drive to see the scenic places washed in the sunrise. Animals will peacefully move with you to various watering holes, and you can take amazing pictures before heading back to Nairobi.
